Doreen Schweizer, Guiding Teacher
Doreen Schweizer, the guiding teacher for Valley Insight Meditation Society, has been practicing meditation and yoga since 1969 and teaching in a variety of settings and formats since 1987. She has been a student of Theravadan Buddhism since 1990. Doreen completed the Community Dharma Leaders program through Spirit Rock Meditation Center (Wood Acre, CA) with Gloria Taraniya Ambrosia as her mentoring teacher and Jack Kornfield as her sponsoring teacher.
Gloria Taraniya Ambrosia, Advisory Teacher
Gloria Taraniya Ambrosia has been a Dhamma teacher since 1990. She is a student of the western forest sangha, the disciples of Ajahn Sumedho and Ajahn Chah, and is a Lay Buddhist Minister in association with Abhayagiri Buddhist Monastery in California.
She served as resident teacher of the Insight Meditation Society in Barre, Massachusetts from 1996 through 1999. Taraniya teaches at the Barre Center for Buddhist Studies and at Dhamma centers in the United States.
